At Help Me!!® Tech Team we care about helping people. One of the most significant things that we can do to make a positive impact and set a good example is to avoid adding to the ever-growing problem of hazardous electronics waste in our landfills. E-waste not only harms the environment…but people and too often, less fortunate children that play in or around landfills. Monitors are particularly harmful because they contain mercury that is then released into our water supply. Other components do contain toxins such as arsenic, lead, cadmium, PCB, etc. which contaminate everything and last forever.
New Computer Recycling Law
What we do every day:
Make every effort to recycle used or unwanted components:
- Reuse: Donate our professional services to repair or refurbish computers and give them to local charitable causes whenever possible.
- Recycle: As a service to our customers we turn over electronic waste (i.e., towers, monitors*, etc.) for collection to a certified responsible (approved) green recycler.
What you can do when you must buy new: Think before you throw out that old computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse or printer. If it is still in good working order, consider donating it to worthy cause such as Goodwill, your local church or school. If it no longer works, then consider calling a local responsible recycler such as Corona Visions. The benefits to society far out way what minuscule cost you may incur while taking responsibility for your own electronic waste. * at cost
